Inspiration
Managing personal finances can be overwhelming, especially with scattered expenses and unclear savings goals. I wanted to create a simple yet powerful tool to bring clarity and control to everyday budgeting.
What it does
Budget Nova helps users track income and expenses, set savings goals, and view spending insights — all in one clean, easy-to-use platform.
How I built it
I used Bolt.new, which made it super easy to bring the idea to life. All I had to do was describe my concept as a prompt — Bolt took care of generating the app’s structure, logic, and even the UI. It saved time and helped us focus on refining the user experience.
Challenges I ran into
Balancing a minimal design with feature-rich functionality was tricky. We also faced time constraints in refining the insights and charts.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I built a fully working prototype with intuitive controls, useful visuals, and a smooth user experience — all within the hackathon timeframe.
What I learned
I learned how crucial UX is in fintech apps, how to prioritise features for MVP, and how powerful simple visuals can be in making finance approachable.
What's next for Budget Nova
I plan to add mobile app, recurring transaction tracking, and AI-based spending suggestions — making it even easier to manage money with confidence.
