BFYC is a website where users input their income and expenses to calculate how much money they can donate to causes they are interested in, which promotes healthy habits and encourages giving.

Inspiration

We were inspired by our desire to spend and save wisely while also donating to the causes we are passionate about.

What it does

BFYC allows user to input their income and predicted expenses to calculate how much money they can donate to causes they are interested in. This fosters a habit of giving back to the community.

How we built it

We designed and built it in Figma.

Challenges we ran into

We started development using Velo but were not able to finish.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we created all our designs and layouts for the site from scratch.

What we learned

From user testing, we learned that users may benefit from a tutorial or guide when starting out with the site.

What's next for Budget For Your Cause

  • Recommend non-essentials that users can cut out of their budget.
  • Allow users to post newly earned badges on social media through the site.
  • Integrate with banking app or mobile wallet to automatically fill in budget.
  • Ask users for organizations they would like to see on the site.
