Inspiration

As a duo of college students, we were inspired by the importance of learning how to manage your finances as you gain more independence and transition into adulthood.

What it does

Budget Buddy is a Web app our team created to help users stay on track with their budget goals. Users can create an account, set weekly budget goals, and track their weekly expenses. Budget buddy will let you know how close or far your expenses are from your target budget. It will also showcase the maximum streak you've held for consecutive weeks of staying within your target budget.

How we built it

Python, Flask, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap

Challenges we ran into

Being able to set up inter-dependent database tables with relationships for better data access.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to create a budget tracker with many different features.

What we learned

A better understanding of how to structure Flask projects.

What's next for Budget Buddy

We hope to further gamify Budget Buddy by adding elements such as an achievements page, and a leadership board so you can compete with your friends!
