Inspiration

Our inspiration for Budget Buddy comes from the desire to simplify personal finance management. We understand that keeping track of income, expenses, and budgets can be challenging, especially for us students. Therefore, we aimed to create a user-friendly solution that empowers individuals to take control of their finances.

What it does

Budget Buddy is a comprehensive financial management web application. It allows users to easily record their income and expenses, categorize transactions, and visualize their financial data through charts. Users can set budgets for different categories and receive real-time updates on their remaining budget.

How we built it

We built Budget Buddy using a combination of modern web technologies. The frontend is developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with Chart.js for data visualization. We used local storage to store user data securely on their devices.

Challenges we ran into

We faced challenges related to data synchronization and ensuring a seamless user experience. Designing an intuitive user interface while handling various financial scenarios was also a significant challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have created a user-friendly financial management tool that simplifies the complex task of tracking income and expenses. Our achievement lies in providing users with a powerful yet easy-to-use application.

What we learned

Throughout the development of Budget Buddy, we learned the importance of user-centered design and effective data management. We gained valuable experience in web development and user experience (UX) design.

What's next for Budget Buddy

In the future, we plan to enhance Budget Buddy with features such as goal setting, expense analysis, and financial advice based on user data. We aim to continue refining the user interface and expanding compatibility across different devices and platforms. Additionally, we plan to incorporate machine learning to provide personalized financial insights to our users.
