Inspiration
The whole team inspired each other to join the hackathon, it was to gain a new experience and work as a team on something we share an interest in.
What it does
The program allows users to essentially budget and track their funds. The features include adding expenses, adding a budget goal, viewing their past expenses, checking their budget goal, and a personalized budget summary. The HTML and CSS demonstrates the design and layout of our website.
How we built it
We built on the prompt given for rookie rank. Initially, we created Python code to demonstrate what the program could do, specifically the functionality of the program. The HTML and CSS was used to demonstrate the web design demo of what we would like our website to look like. We collaborated on the files using Replit for the Python code, and we used Glitch in order to collaborate on the HTML and CSS files.
Challenges we ran into
Working on one project in different places was a little bit difficult. Additionally, combining our uses of HTML, CSS, and Python was new to all of us and became something we needed to learn.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Accomplishments we're proud of are how much we challenged ourselves to understand a fairly new language to us such as HTML and CSS. We also built off of each other's ideas in order to create the different features, and we were able to work well in a team. Debugging, reading, and creating functional Python code was an accomplishment for us. Lastly, our idea was executed how we imagined.
What we learned
We learned how to collaborate on code as a team and some of us learned new languages as well.
What's next for Pocket Pro App
The next step is adding Javascript to the website that functions similar to the Python code we made, in order to create a website that functions how we would like it to.
