Inspiration
This project started with a simple question: what if we could capture the thrill and strategy of Formula 1 racing, but also use it to think about the future of mobility? Racing is more than just speed; it’s about making the right call at the right time. Pit stops, tire choices, and weather changes; these decisions can make or break a race. We wanted to build a simulator that doesn’t just move cars around a track, but actually models those choices and shows how they play out. At the same time, we were inspired by the bigger picture. The same principles that help a race car win, efficiency, adaptability, resilience—are the ones we need in real-world mobility systems, from electric vehicles to smart cities.
How we built it
- We started with a core simulation engine: cars, tracks, and basic physics.
- Then we added an AI decision layer so cars could make strategy calls—like when to pit or how to handle changing conditions.
- To make it engaging, we built a visualization layer: a live race map and telemetry dashboards showing speed, acceleration, and lap times.
- Finally, we added events—like rain or sudden tire wear—to test how adaptable the system really was.
