Buddy

Inspiration

Inspired by an article about how loneliness profoundly impacts behavior and can escalate the risk of premature death, we wanted our idea to help individuals with their social skills .

What it does

While AI is proficient at summarizing text, documents, and even writing, it can struggle with maintaining conversational flow and context. Similar to translation engines that sometimes miss nuances, AI may not always consider the full context, leading to responses that feel robotic or out of touch with the conversation's tone and intent. So, how can we bridge this gap and make AI interactions more human-like to help individuals develop social skills and communication skills?

To solve the need for personalized support in social skill development, Buddy is a revolutionary AI companion. Through advanced natural language processing and context-aware algorithms, Buddy provides tailored guidance and practice opportunities for individuals seeking to enhance their social skills. Buddy also uses machine learning to adapt to and mimic the user’s speech patterns so that conversations feel more personal and engaging.

How we built it

Through Figma, we created wireframes to draft ideas and the desired features. We also created a user flow as well as a competitor analysis as part of our design process.

Challenges we ran into

Defining the tasks flows that enable users to perform multiple tasks in the app. We went in the wireframing with the Voice chat idea but eventually we wanted to find ways for the user to perform more tasks that the voice chat and that was challenging.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to finish the prototype and presenting a complete user journey.

What we learned

A lot about AI and algorithms and also creating platforms where there isn't as much tasks to perform compared to other apps we have created.

What's next for Buddy

Ideally, more usability testing to receive feedback from users!
