Buddy Bot

Buddy Bot is the solution when you're home alone, had a long and exhausting day, and need someone to talk to. Trained with conversation and emotions, Buddy Bot is there to listen when nobody else is.

Inspiration

My inspiration for Buddy Bot was seeing how advanced Chatbots like ChatGPT and even Snapchat bot impacted people's lives by allowing them to cheat on their homework and providing comfort and conversation with someone who really needs it. Furthermore, this project taught me a lot about APIs, GUIs, and Procedures.

What it does

Buddy Bot can listen to you talk about your day and engage in conversation. Buddy Bot can also tell you about the weather, tell you jokes, and even solve simple arithmetic equations.

How we built it

I built Buddy Bot in Python and using Tkinter as a GUI

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges I ran into were trying to structure the logic for the bot and setting up an API because I had never done so before.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of what I was able to create as just a beginner and hope to make projects even more advanced and exciting.

What we learned

I learned the basics of Python and programming by utilizing GUIs, APIs, Lists, Procedures, Back-End logic.

What's next for Buddy Bot

Next, I plan on connecting Buddy Bot to a Google Gemini Pro API and tweaking how Gemini responds to certain phrases, questions, and keywords. I plan on creating more advanced and interesting projects to learn even more.
