Inspiration

Have you ever been in a 200+ person lecture and never felt more alone? Well we have the solution for you! Introducing Buddies 4 Studies, the app that facilitates connections between student for the greater good of learning! We wanted to create an app where students could feel more included in their learning environment as it can be very hard to make some of those connections without the help of technology.

What it does

Buddies 4 Studies helps match students with other students who meet their needs. If you want to find a tutor, someone to study with or just someone to sit with in class, you can use the helpful search tool to locate those that can provide such services.

How we built it

We used app lab, a helpful program geared towards beginners in the app development world that implements javaScript and helps to create a mockup of a mobile app.

Challenges we ran into

It was hard navigating a process that none of us were extremely familiar with. We had to do a lot of research and implement a lot of teamwork to achieve our end result.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of our finished product as it represents all of our skills culminating together to create an app all about teamwork.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the app development process. From brainstorming to coding, all of the steps were somewhat new to us and we were able to overcome any challenges we faced all with the help of teamwork.

What's next for Buddies 4 Studies

We have a bunch of features we would have liked to implement but either did not have the time or the skills to do so. Some of these include a messaging feature as well as a rating feature. We would love to further develop the app and add more of these functionalities in the future.
