Inspiration

Noticing the constant budgeting issues, managing subscriptions all across the internet and unable to save money on time. As college students, these problems have inspired us to focus on building a financial security app using s(CASP).

What it does

Buck-buddy is an Artificially Intelligent simulated system that runs on human style reasoning to develop a personalized cost-efficient partner that incorporates a wide range of subscriptions and budget spending based on the year, the month, and the day. Another important functionality of Buck-buddy is that it uses human reasoning to help the user make an informed decision on how to be more cost-efficient when it comes to “budgeting” on different billing cycles. A really important feature of the program is that it generates a monthly reminder to economize for unexpected emergencies.

How we built it

This logic program was built using the s(CASP) automated reasoning system. The Buck-buddy intelligence system analyzes pre-existing data sets to make a logical decision of asking the user about the continuation of an ongoing “subscription”. This decision will be made based on data records of user usage.

Challenges we ran into

Challenges we ran into were learning the s(CASP) language for about 2 hours before coding this project.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Being able to successfully develop a human reasoning AI machine which can actually help the users manage their spending.

What we learned

We learned a lot of s(CASP) and also the usage of queries, difference between facts, roles, and queries and how they are used.

What's next for Buck Buddy, The Financial Security Application

To develop an application which is widely accessible for the users to enable financial security.
