Most AR expérience we have seen dealt with creatures or objects on land, and we thought it would be cool to make an immersive experience focused on deep sea experience.

What it does

It simulates a deep sea experience complete with animated bubbles, fishes and sound effects.

How I built it

Using Facebook's Spark AR platform, we built the project with instructions, emitters, and plane tracker to create an interactive experience.

Challenges I ran into

The Patch system took some time to get used to and sometimes I needed to restart the app when simulator stops working properly.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are happy to be able to create an immersive experience with third-party models and no advanced coding involved.

What I learned

I learned more about how the visual coding platform in Spark AR works, especially with dynamic instruction via patches.

What's next for BubblyFishes

It is mostly a bootstrap project to see what's possible with Spark AR. We could always add more effects and better animation to improve it. I also want to figure out how to make it supporting a 360 degree rotation so it can be more immersive.
