Inspiration

What it does

This website offers a quick, simple, but fun way to find a boba store in Irvine to visit. Click on a boba, get directions, and drive/walk off to your well deserved treat!

How we built it

We used GitHub to commit and run our website. VSCode was used for both the backend and front development.

Challenges we ran into

As this was the first hackathon the both of us joined, it was difficult to grasp what was necessary for our project, and how to go along building it from scratch. Not having a lot of experience with frontend development, creating the design for the website took a long time, needing a lot of research and trial and error.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

First of all, we are proud that we built a working project in our first hackathon. We are also proud that we were able to get first hand experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as find ways to integrate Google Maps into the website.

What we learned

We learned the difficulty of connecting the frontend with the backend, making sure that the things we wanted actually got reflected on the website.

What's next for Bubble Popper

After getting more experience working with frontend development and APIs, we want to make this webpage work for different locations. Instead of focusing on a limited number of boba stores in Irvine, we would like to extend this website so that we use geolocation to determine boba stores that are near the user. In addition, we would like to integrate this website to look good on all devices like laptops, phones, and tablets.
