We were inspired by the Green Hack Challenge within the NSBE Hackathon. Bruknot, gets its name from the Jamaican vernacular "bruk" which means "to be broke" which is to have little to no money. In order to not be "bruk", one must enlighten themselves where financial literacy is concerned.
What it does
Bruknot is a web application meant to assist users with budget management and various calculations that would be needed in order to save, track credit and so on. It also lends a hand by giving financial advise to the user and determines the feasibility based on user input, of saving a given amount.
How we built it
We utilized GitHub and Vs Code live share in order to build it together as a team after coming up with the idea.
Challenges we ran into
There was one page in particular that refused to display its contents. As we write this, it actually still isn't but we do hope that we can get it up and running before submission.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud that we would have almost completed a complete web app in such a small window of time. We all also learnt from each other and even ourselves.
What we learned
Team work really does make the dream work.
What's next for Bruknot
Right now, we have no future plans but its totally possible for it to evolve.
