Browser-based music recording platform.

WHAT IS IT:

This software is designed to simplify music creation, and make it easier for artists to collaborate.

The main idea is to de-mystify the song recording and production technology. Think of it as a Recording platform as simple and as accessible as a Google Sheet.

THE BASICS:

• Anyone in the world can open a page on their browser and instantly create a cloud-based simple recording session.

• You can either import existing audio files into the project, or simply press REC and record the track on your phone/laptop/Audio interface etc. Multi-track recording is also possible, but limited.

• The platform allows you to add new tracks, Cut, Copy, Paste and Move audio regions and all other basic functionality, such as mixing track volumes and panning, EQ, basic open-source effects (reverb, delay, compression, etc.). All tracks and projects can be set to a metronome grid, quantized etc.

• The platform also offers a library of beats and audio loops, as well as basic Virtual instruments, such as Drum machines, synth engines, pads, strings etc. Not the BEST in the world, but just easy and decent.

• The project LINK can be shared with your friends, bandmates, or your followers on social media. Anyone can contribute according to the level of access you've granted - just as with Google Docs.

THE POINT:

The point of this software is not to replace DAWs or to create intricate, Grammy-Winning productions on your phone (although - wouldn't be surprised.. ), but to facilitate the CREATIVE Process. All musicians have little bits and bobs and idea-nuggets. And yet it can take months or sometimes years for a "cool riff" to evolve into a finalized song.

With this platform - instead of storing away those Riffs and melodies and hooks in a messy, unorganized list of Voice Recordings on your iPhone, just record into a Browser DAW. Lock it to a tempo - mess around with it, edit it, clean it up, put on some reverb and put a beat behind it. Now the song is already taking shape. Awesome - drop into your band's WhatsApp group and see what happens.

EXAMPLE:

You make a drum machine groove, and play some cool basslines on top. Then you pass it along to your friends, and ask someone to lay down a few verses. As soon as someone contributes, you'll get a notification. As the song's owner - you get to choose which tracks or takes work and which ones don't.

When you feel that the song is starting to take shape, you might want to start getting serious! For example, you can re-record some parts with a higher quality Audio setup. Or you can simply export the session as a Logic Pro or Protools project. Alternatively, you can just export the key tracks as individual audio files and just start all over on a proper Digital Audio Workspace.

MONETIZATION:

First, we need to make this thing work and we need to create demand. After that we can either charge a small fee for Audio Exports or Project exports or incentivise users to purchase add-ons etc.
