Inspiration
Bronx Fresh Hub addresses the food desert issue by bringing fresh, affordable produce directly to residents in areas with limited grocery store access. The mobile markets eliminate transportation barriers, as they rotate through neighborhoods like Mott Haven and Soundview, identified as high-need areas. The urban micro-farms empower residents by providing training and job opportunities, fostering economic resilience while increasing local food production. Educational workshops promote health literacy, teaching residents how to prepare nutritious meals on a budget. By involving community members in both farming and distribution, the project ensures solutions are tailored to local needs, sustainable, and culturally relevant. Partnerships with organizations like BronxWorks, which served over 459,000 meals in 2024, enhance the project's reach and impact
