Inspiration
For UTRA Hacks. We are simulating the participation of a biathlon using an autonomous Arduino robot. Our name inspiration is based on some of the hardships we faced during building this robot, more specifically how our wheels keep breaking.
What it does
The robot features a basic robotic arm to pick up a box, by following lines and colour cues, and placing the box at the designated area.
How we built it
We built it on a chassis with an Arduino Uno R4 Minima, motor driver, colour sensor, ultrasonic distance sensor, servo motors, DC motors, IR sensors, however we haven't used them all yet.
Challenges we ran into
Because of our wheels breaking, and there being a limited supply of wheels, our wheel durability was solely based on hot glue, causing obstacles and improper driving to influence our performance.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Individually, all our components worked, and while piecing them together, they also worked that way, since we are not finished yet, we are yet to try the rest.
What we learned
We learned debugging, problem-solving, and basic hands-on skills.
What's next for Broken Wheels Team #39
We have finished our build and code, and will hope for success on the judging track.
