Inspiration
The journey of BriskWrite began with a simple observation: writing, whether academic papers, blog posts, journalism, or research, is a universal challenge laden with obstacles like writer's block, the need for quick turnaround times, and the desire for high-quality output. Inspired by the potential of AI to revolutionize how we approach writing, we aimed to create a tool that not only assists in overcoming these obstacles but also enhances creativity and productivity. The vision was to democratize writing assistance, making it accessible to anyone seeking to refine their craft, irrespective of their writing proficiency or professional background.
What We Learned
Throughout the development of BriskWrite, we embarked on a steep learning curve. We delved deep into the complexities of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML), discovering innovative ways to apply these technologies for text generation, analysis, and enhancement. The process illuminated the importance of designing user-centric software, especially when it involves creative tasks like writing. We learned the significance of intuitive UI/UX design, the value of feedback loops with real users, and the necessity of constantly iterating our algorithms to better understand and anticipate user needs.
How We Built It
BriskWrite was built on a foundation of cutting-edge AI, leveraging the latest advancements in NLP and ML. We started by exploring our passion in creating a seamless writing experience. The backend, powered by Firebase and several AI frameworks, is the core, while learning and adapting to user inputs. On the frontend, we focused on creating a clean, intuitive interface using Nextjs, ensuring our tool is accessible across devices and platforms.
Challenges Faced
One of the main challenges we encountered was fine-tuning our AI to respond to myriad writing styles and preferences of our users. Ensuring the suggestions and enhancements provided by BriskWrite felt natural and coherent required extensive training and refinement of our models.
