The inspiration for BrioAI stemmed from the challenges faced by professionals, students, and content creators in a fast-paced, digital-first world. Whether it’s summarizing dense documents, refining content for clarity, or bridging communication gaps across languages, the need for an efficient, AI-driven solution was clear. BrioAI was born to empower users by simplifying content interactions, saving time, and enhancing productivity.
What it does
BrioAI is a feature-rich application designed to streamline how users interact with content. Its core functionalities include:
- Content Summarization: Generate concise summaries of lengthy articles or text for quick - understanding.
- Content Rewriting: Refine or reframe text for better clarity, readability, or specific goals like SEO optimization.
- Dynamic Prompt Generation: Create contextually relevant prompts to inspire creativity and guide workflows.
- Language Detection: Accurately identify languages to support seamless multilingual interaction. These features work cohesively to help users process information faster, communicate effectively, and achieve their goals effortlessly.
How we built it
BrioAI was developed with a combination of cutting-edge technologies:
_ Frontend: Built with React.js and styled using Material-UI for a modern, responsive user interface. _ Backend: Powered by Node.js and Express.js, ensuring robust API management and scalability. _ Database: Utilized MongoDB for secure and scalable data storage. _ Chrome Built-in AI APIs: Leveraged advanced AI features such as summarization, writing, and language detection for efficient, in-browser processing. A modular approach ensured clean code, easy maintenance, and scalability for future updates.
Challenges we ran into
- Write API Optimization Problem: The Write API required fine-tuning to generate contextually relevant outputs. Solution: Iterative prompt engineering was used to enhance the quality and precision of generated text.
- Translation API Limitations
Problem: Translation functionality was unavailable due to API restrictions.
Solution: Focused on successfully implementing language detection while documenting translation issues for future updates.
- UI/UX Balance Problem: Designing a user-friendly interface while showcasing advanced features was a challenge. Solution: Created an intuitive dashboard with clean navigation, responsive layouts, and user-centric designs.
- Deployment Hurdles
Problem: Faced issues with build commands and environment configurations during deployment.
Solution: Resolved deployment issues by properly configuring Vercel for the frontend and Render for the backend.
- TypeScript Errors Problem: Persistent type mismatches and configuration challenges slowed development. Solution: Refined TypeScript configurations and explicitly defined types for smoother development.
