Inspiration:

The potential of Web 3 is vast, yet its adoption remains slow. Through our research, we have come to understand that the primary obstacle to widespread adoption lies in the lack of user-centric solutions in the market. Our findings reveal three key challenges:

1) Web 3 often assumes a high level of technical knowledge on the part of users

2) It fails to take into account how users interact with technology and their natural need to pursue "the path of least resistance".

3) The current disconnected nature of networks creates friction and hinders the integration of Web 3 into daily life.

In response to these difficulties, we have chosen to adopt a comprehensive strategy by creating a solution that places an emphasis on both user-friendly design and teaching. In recognition of the fact that a narrow focus on one component of the problem would limit the potential impact of the solution, our goal is to close the gap between technology and users' everyday lives.

What it does:

Our solution seeks to enhance the web3 experience through a three-pronged approach. First, by incorporating intuitive dashboards that leverages learnings from web2 on data visualization and reporting, users will feel more confident navigating these tools.

Second, we aimed to create a single source of truth by consolidating learning portals that embrace UX design standards and the principles of video content to transform the educational experience from a "dev-looking document page" into a captivating single source of truth.

Lastly, we aim to provide a seamless, easy-to-use digital wallet experience that integrates into users' daily (currently web2) lives and provides a "one-stop shop" for all their web3 assets and experiences.

By focusing on the three key pain points faced by current web3 users, we are creating a seamless experience from start to finish. Transforming current web3 experiences into enjoyable and integrated part of users' daily lives, fitting seamlessly into their existing web2 routines.

How we built it:

We used Figma to design a new intuitive user experience for Mantle's Block Explorer, a consolidated learning portal called "Mantle Learning" and a cutting-edge digital wallet, "EDGE by Mantle". Understanding that digital wallets are the first interaction with web3 that many users have, we wanted to prioritize a seamless onboarding experience.

Mantle Learning, built on the Mantle ecosystem and integrated into EDGE, offers a unique educational experience. The traditional "Dev-looking" documents page has been transformed into an engaging and accessible platform, allowing users to consume learning content through short, 1-3 minute informative videos covering topics such as Modular Blockchain Rollups, Using Faucets, and more. Similar to how we consume social media today.

A new more intuitive Block Explorer design that encourages users to try new tools and boosts their confidence and interest in the web3 space.

EDGE, a digital wallet that seamlessly integrates with Apple Wallet, provides a single location for all digital collectibles, including Crypto, NFTs, and dApps, and offers access to decentralized learning from anywhere, at any time.

Challenges we ran into:

Timing was one of our major challenges. Our objective was to provide solutions for web3 problems that went beyond merely aesthetic enhancements. We were unable to conduct user interviews due to time constraints, therefore we mainly relied on secondary research to identify the underlying causes of the issues we wished to address. We learned through our investigation that the information that was accessible about the needs of the web3 community was frequently extremely technical and lacked a user-centered focus.

Accomplishments that we're proud of:

Gaining a deep understanding of the users and the obstacles to mass adoption Designing a comprehensive solution to onboard people to web3, that could actually be implemented by Mantle as way to reach more people and illustrate how easy and beneficial it is to use its tools.

What we learned:

1) The mainstream usage of web3 technology is hindered by terminology and user experience.

2) Currently, web3 does not effortlessly integrate into people's web2 experiences, which causes a lack of confidence in its potential and intimidates people away from trying it.

What's next for Bringing Web3 To the Masses:

We would want to see Mantle or another web3 company use our research and ideas. We think that these solutions can accelerate the adoption of web3, but usability testing will be necessary to confirm our hypothesis.
