Inspiration :

Many times we tend to forget to check the weather before leaving home, and end up in wrong attire or without an umbrella !!

What it does :

This app sends you push notifications, notifying you about the weather conditions of your location. You can set up the time when you want the information to be delivered to you. You need now go to weather app and check for it. The app does it for you and sends the push. It fetches the weather conditions for the set location and forms the custom message to be sent based on it.

How we built it :

We build it using react-native, objective-c and javascript.

Challenges we ran into :

We had to explore a bit understanding about what modules and API's to use. Since this app is for iOS, and we know there are so many restrictions on iOS, we had to figure out ways to implement the features without breaking iOS restrictions.

Accomplishments that we're proud of :

We developed the app for iOS platform and we could almost achieve it for Android as well.

What we learned :

We learnt quite a many new things in terms of language, various API's available, integrating them with our code, learning on designing a solution and modifying it on the go.

What's next for Bring Your Umbrella :

We are planning on syncing this feature with calendar so that it can fetch users schedule from his calendar and send notifications when he is about to leave the house.
