Inspiration

We were inspired to create this project by our experiences in this Hackathon. Through networking with professionals and mentors, we realized that while it is clear to those with experience, beginners often struggle to determine what topics they need to learn. Even when they are aware of the needed topics, learning programming often feels endless and frustrating. This is why we created BrightPath.

What it does

BrightPath is a programming pathway guide as well as a gamified study space. Each item in our programming pathway includes a topic map, and every item unlocks a brief topic explanation, as well as free text-based and video resources to help you learn! In addition, through productive Pomodoro sessions in our Study Hub, you can keep track of your progress and breaks (make sure to get up and stretch once in a while!)

How we built it

We mainly developed BrightPath using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

Due to having multiple people developing each page, we initially struggled to keep our site looking consistent across pages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we were able to come together as a team, and help eachother by communicating our own strengths and weaknesses. This allowed us to have a smooth development process.

What we learned

We learnt the importance of time management and communication. We each learnt to develop and strengthen skill sets as this project required us to research and practice new coding elements
