Inspiration

In Maharashtra State, India it rained very heavily in monsoon in Konkan regions. A city in Ratnagiri district two bridges were flown into the water as the river was flooded and many human lives were lost. In order to overcome it I have developed this application.

What it does

In bridge security, the ultrasonic sensors will be attached at the bottom of the bridge. The sensors will detect the level of water and give alarms and indications according to the water level. Which will help in reducing the danger to human lives. The authority people can take necessary actions and close the bridge till the water level reduces.

How we built it

Hardware:

  1. Arduino UNO
  2. Buzzer
  3. LED's
  4. Registers 5.Ultrasonic sensor
  5. Bread Board

Challenges we ran into

The major challenge was the connection between hardware components. Multiple times we failed. Another challenge we went through was detecting the levels of the water with ultrasonic sensors and LED indications.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we completed this project within 6 hours. Rest of the time we searched for different resources to connect the hardware components. Yeah, we are very proud of our hack. We are able to solve the problem.

What we learned

We have learned a lot more about the hardware stuff here like how Arduino UNO works? What are its different pins? How does the ultrasonic sensor works? How to detect water levels? etc.

What's next for Bridge Security

We are planning to integrate GSM module into it so that the level indications and the notifications will be sent to Authority on their mobiles.
