Inspiration

Three of the four group members are in long-distance relationships and are disappointed in the options of long-distance relationship apps and websites to use. We decided to try to make our own website to condense all of our desires.

What it does

Bridge is an all-in-one app that brings together all the facets of long-distance which we have wanted for so long: chat, photo memories, plans, a calendar, and a zodiac horoscope.

Chat (currently not working): Simple chat where you are able to chat with your significant other. Currently running into a pipe error when trying to connect and authenticate. Otherwise, functionality is working.

Photo memories: Fully functioning memory stock, where you can add photos from your computer into the database to keep memories. Has categories and searching by categories.

Plans: A more or less simple planning website, which is a little bit more spoofy than a normal to-do list.

Calendar and Horoscope : Currently not implemented.

How we built it

Build using Django through python. Made use of tutorials for the most part, for the different apps.

Challenges we ran into

Very first time doing a CodeJam for all of us, and the first time doing any Django and web dev for some of us, so it was quite difficult to try to be able to understand the back-end and front end, and how everything works. Django especially is quite complicated.
