As 2021 rages on, we find ourselves still in the midst of a pandemic. With this, many of us find ourselves separated from friends and family. Video chats can get boring, but with BrickFast, we seek to reinvigorate these virtual hangouts!

What it does

BrickFast is a virtual cooking challenge! The challenge will randomly generate ingredients to be used as friends and family alike go head-to-head in a timed cooking competition.

How we built it

We built BrickFast using a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a lot of challenges with JS and CSS formatting.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get a working prototype within an achievable time period. We bounced around ideas and ran into problems with ideas that were not feasible in the given time.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the inter connectivity of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and how to collaborate in a virtual environment.

What's next for BrickFast

BrickFast development will continue to improve and later on be turned into a react-app with more working features. One feature we plan to implement is our own video interfacing, so our users won't have to be dependent on a third party service.

How It Works

The game starts by creating or joining an existing session, next the participants agree on a specific number of ingredients for which the game will use. Next the specific number of ingredients will be generated, and a countdown timer will start once the team is ready. After the time limit, each participant will present their food creation, and then vote for which participant had the best creation. Once voting is complete, the winner will be displayed and the game will be over.
