Inspiration: Games such as Enter the Dungeon, Brotato, and FNAF: Pizzeria Simulator. A common thread that we have experienced within the indie scene is people making and enjoying games that turn job experience into playable content.

What it does - It acts as a rouge like shoot 'em up with the objective of trying to serve, or better yet attack, customers the correct product to gain points that'll contribute to your customer satisfaction grade. At the end of the round you get your grade and paycheck (depending on your score, you could just be fired). I controller and keyboard controller are both available.

How we built it - We used Godot and shared a Github repository to work collaboratively on it.

Challenges we ran into - The file compatibility between Windows and MacOS made it difficult for us to pull certain files from each other. Learning two complex systems at once (Godot and GitHub) was also quite tough.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - Creating a title screen, a functional top-down shooter system for our player, and animations for our characters. Outside of the game itself, we’re proud of our determination and fortitude. It might not have been completed fully to our liking, but we still got something done and that feels great.

What we learned - It might be valuable to have everyone on the same operating system while collaborating in the future. We also learned that consistent and continuous communication (even about things that seem super small or insignificant) is extremely important for a project like this.

What's next for Brick and Murder - The dream would be to have a full fledged game with developed environments, a scoring system and fail state, and a completed story. Having even a small game on something like itch.io would be huge and really helpful with gaining feedback on a wider scale so we can improve.
