Inspiration
We were inspired by the lack of mental health applications in the internet. We feel as if though mental health were to be the most important thing in our day to day lives.
What it does
It uses Gemini AI to guide the user through whatever they may be feeling currently. They can also use the input section to give a detailed prompt.
How we built it
We used the Google Gemini API, as well as Node.js and Express.js. The website itself was all done through HTML and some java script.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into several challenges for this project. At first, we wanted to use OpenAI, but we quickly found out that our pockets would hurt. We also had to figure out the styling as we went as well as the overall structure for this challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of having a functioning chatbox that provides feedback for the user and their emotions. It's important because something like this can have a good impact in a person.
What we learned
We learned how to use Express.js, Node.js, and the Gemini API for this project which was all very important.
What's next for Brian the Brain
We want to have support for a true daily journal where the AI can analyze it and provide the user with even more feedback. This would require a database most likely, which means we might be pushed to use something like MongoDB.
