Inspiration
The novel Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostsoyevsky, a Russian novelist from the late 19th century
What it does
This program allows the user to experience the storyline of the book Crime and Punishment through the viewpoint of a minor character Razumikhin.
How we built
We used Eclipse and divided the work amongst ourselves. We used separate classes and a GUI to create this program.
Challenges we ran into
The panels would frequently start glitching and appear everywhere, and the cause of these problems were often unclear. The algorithms used to distinguish string arrays often became muddled.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The game works to an extent. The user is able to figure out how to win this simulation through the rules and tips provided.
What we learned
It's extremely tiring to stay up for over 24 hours. Sometimes, we can't find solutions to problems, so we just ignore them.
What's next for Brevnikov
We will add a background to the panels, which we attempted but failed to do because it kept glitching and doubling itself.
