The inspiration for Brevity AI came from the challenge of navigating through overwhelming amounts of information online. Whether it’s long articles, detailed reports, or crafting clear and concise written communication, we realized there’s a need for tools that simplify this process. With Chrome’s built-in AI APIs, we saw an opportunity to create a solution that helps users save time and improve productivity.
What it Does
Brevity AI is a Chrome Extension that:
Summarizes lengthy web pages, articles, or documents into concise overviews, helping users grasp key points quickly.
Refines and rephrases written content to improve grammar, tone, and clarity, making writing more efficient and professional.
How We Built It
Frontend: Built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for the user interface.
Backend: Leveraged Chrome’s AI APIs, including the Summarization and Rewrite APIs, to process user inputs and deliver AI-powered results.
Extension Framework: Utilized Chrome’s extension development platform to integrate the AI-powered features directly into the browser.
Challenges We Ran Into
Integrating the AI APIs efficiently within the Chrome Extension framework was challenging due to API limitations and ensuring smooth communication between the frontend and backend.
