Inspiration

Our friend has been recently diagonsed with a special ALS which made him unable to communicate as a result of paralysis. The devices that would help to communicate costs a fortune, decided to find a better solution.

What it does

It converts the breath of a person into speech, which would help a paralyzed person to communicate as his breath is the only thing he has control over till his death. As an additional using breath the user can control things around him like control the temperature around, call for emergency, change lightning conditions, etc..

How I built it

Using cheap hardware available around and with the integration of firebase, the device was brought to life. The whole cost of the device is less than 100 $ where as the one used by stephen hawking would cost around 10,000$.

Challenges I ran into

  • Detection
  • Language framing (encoding)
  • pattern detection

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

  • This project did not yield any promising result for the first 12 hours hence shifted onto a new project which was a major breakthrough in space navigation , we would love to showcase also this but on learning that this hackathon is not enough to complete the project we went back and the older one pitched a bright result. In a nutshell we were able to make two breakthroughs of which one was able to be completed.

What I learned

Never give up, and stick on to your goals.
