Inspiration
Initiative taken by ELC and other organizations to create awareness and help women fight against breast cancer using today's cutting edge Technologies which makes cancer patients' survival easier and better. Hence we came up with software solution which takes care all the concerns related to breast cancer.
What it does
From many challenges available, we chose Smart Appointment as our part of implementation. Basically our solution for appointment related challenges is a Smart Appointment Application which automates the work of front desk at the hospital and for doctors to get list of all the appointments he/she has for the day. From the patient side of the application, patient has to login in order to continue booking an appointment. If he/she is a first time user he has to register to the application by providing all the required data which will be stored for further use. After logging in, patient will be given options to choose the hospital , doctor he wants to consult , appointment date and timing from the available options. On choosing from the options the patient will be booked with an appointment for specified date and time and specified doctor at the chosen hospital.
How we built it
Initially we developed a skeleton of the project and developed a database according to our requirements using MySql. Then continuing with the backend, we used java and spring rest for implementing the business logic. Coming to frontend, we used html, css, bootstrap and angular to design and develop the UI of the application.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge we faced was time constraint. Further, all the team members were working remotely which made interaction between team members more challenging.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Even though it was our first hackathon, we are proud that we could understand problem statement and come up with a solution for it.
What we learned
Through the hackathon we learnt product development for real time scenarios. Also, we learnt how co-ordination between team members is really important in integrating and accepting each ones' ideas of solution to the problem statement.

Next step for Breast Cancer Healthcare Application is to build it on a large scale and make it available in the market
