Breast Cancer and Analytics

Inspiration

Bring patients and medical services providers closer together on breast cancer awareness and treatment. We want to show how it is possible to bring data in an easier and faster way to all personas involved.

What it does

A complete platform to connect patients, doctors and hospitals in the process of following up on yearly checkups and keep track of ongoing treatments. The main purpose of this solution is to keep patient´s awareness about the importance of prevention and to help doctors have a more efficient way of early diagnose. This solution makes use of a powerful platform that allows us to connect and distribute data from different sources while maintaining security and compliance. It has a complete set of features to deliver trusted information in the hands of each user in a way that is easy to understand and follow up.

Patient Provide a consolidated view of exam results, receive alerts about next checkup dates and follow up on treatment status/stages. We can bring predictive models into the patient app to give her personalized tips, ideas, advises to keep her cheerful and awareness about her health.

This will leverage our dashboard capability providing information that is easy to interpret and understand via a website or a mobile device. It will also make use of a distribution service to send alerts.

The main feature of this solution is to integrate data from different sources and leverage our integration capability. We can bring artificial intelligence image analysis into the doctor´s daily data review to help them on a more accurate and fast diagnose. Receptionist Keep track of patient´s checkup dates and follow up on those that are past due.
We will provide daily reports with patient´s information about past due checkup dates. We will leverage a capability called Hypercards that allow the users have relevant information without going through complex BI systems.

How we built it

The entire solution was built on MicroStrategy´s platform leveraging a set of APIs to integrate advanced analytics, smartbots and embedded capabilities.

Challenges we ran into

Really put ourselves in the position of going through a cancer diagnose and understand what kind of information could help the patients and doctors have a smoother and easier process of treatment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Work as a team remotely (from different locations) and be able to deliver the solution in a short period of time while balancing our daily work activities.

What we learned

That even though technology is improving in a higher speed, doctors, nurses, hospitals and patients still feel that it's not enough to attend their needs, since sometimes is too much information at once. We need to learn how to balance and direct data in a more effective way.
