Streaming teams make thousands of operational decisions that affect profitability, yet the link between a decision and its P&L impact is often slow, fragmented, and difficult to act on.
What it does
BreakEven is an autonomous P&L operations agent for FAST and AVOD streaming. It turns performance signals into safe, explainable recommendations and actions—helping operators identify where revenue is leaking, protect margins, and move toward profitability faster.
How we built it
We built BreakEven in Python with Google ADK and Gemini, with Grafana providing operational visibility. The system combines streaming business signals with guardrails so actions remain controlled, reversible, and auditable.
Challenges we ran into
The central challenge was balancing autonomy with trust. A system that can affect live operations must not only find an opportunity—it must explain its reasoning, enforce limits, and safely revert actions when results cannot be proven.
What we learned
We learned that useful AI operations tooling is not just about generating insights. It is about connecting insight to accountable action, with the reliability and safety controls that real operators need.
