BreakBot

Inspiration

Wanted to create a break time bot that would give articles based on available times and interest.

What it does

returns articles either from google news or gameinformer preview.

How I built it

javascript using a discord bot as the interface.

Challenges I ran into

learning javascript, web crawling, proper use of urls, getting data I would have liked.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The discord bot actually runs and gives relevant articles.

What I learned

What's next for BreakBot

Automated timer to announce break is over, giving approximate read times on articles, faster return time, standalone app, get from more than a couple different websites, etc.
