When Dodgeball met Breakout, a new game was born - BreakBall! In our online multiplayer game, we connect your friend’s room to your wall through a portal so you can play with people from all over the world, right in your home. Throw ball after ball into your friend's room in order to break their brick wall. Use your shield to deflect the balls thrown by your opponent or catch and use them to counter attack. First to break all the bricks from the opponent's room wins.
Key features
- Online 1 vs 1 duels
- We map each player's room walls and create a 1:1 virtual represantation of them. We then connect the 2 rooms through a portal on a wall. Each room thus becomes the playing field
- We integrated avatars and voice chat so that you and your friend can see eachother and interact
- Our game features real time over the network physics on the ball and the shield
- Win the game by breaking all of your opponent's bricks first. Use the shield to protect your own brick wall
In our game we use several Mixed Reality capabilities and Presence Platform SDKs:
- We use the passthrough capability for bringing in-game elements to your room
- We use the scene capability to render a virtual representation of each of the player’s actual rooms through the portal
- In order to grab the Shield and Balls in the game with the Meta Quest controllers we use the interaction sdk
- We use the voice sdk for player chat
- We also use meta’s avatar sdk to show each player
To test
- room setup has to be done
- make sure you're connected to the internet
- you and your friend must be in the game at the same time
- after you get the "connected" message, point your right controller towards the wall you want to place the portal on
