Game title and genre
BREAK x TOWER - Tower Defense & Strategy.
Target player and pitch
For players who find traditional tower defense too passive, this is BREAK X TOWER! Aim your bouncing-ball launcher at the approaching hordes, while the towers you place fight on their own. Part aiming skill, part board building - and all speed. Clear 10 Waves to complete a stage - or die trying. Either way, you’ll get new cards and ether to spend on upgrading your deck, ready for the next round!
How to play (controls)
With one finger, drag on the field to aim the launcher; it’ll fire continuously in the direction you set. Kills earn XP, and when the XP bar fills, you’re offered cards from your chosen deck to use to build your tower defense. If it is a tower, ally or wall, tap the field to place it. Between waves, tap on your towers to move them around and strategize, then tap START WAVE to continue.
Core loop
Enemies march down toward your launcher. Aim the auto-firing launcher; its balls damage and kill. Kills give XP; and XP offers you upgrades: tower types, allies or powerups (depending on how you strategised your cards before the run). Place them on a grid to boost your defenses, to prepare for the next wave. Enemies that hit towers or allies damage them; enemies that reach the bottom drain HP. At zero HP, you lose. Surviving ten waves wins the stage. Either way, the end summary converts XP into a random card draw: the new cards unlock new towers and allies, while duplicates can be used to permanently power-up cards you own. It repeats well because the halves compete: time aiming is time not planning placement, and a weak draw must be covered by sharper aim. It also grows in complexity and opportunity, as new card combinations unlock totally new playstyles of the same problems.
What is in this prototype
5 stages varying enemies, wall layout, difficulty 35 cards: towers, allies, walls and stackable boosts 12 enemy types 7 launchers with different fire modes: bouncing balls, piercing lasers, minion spawning Win, lose and reset cycle, achievements, enemy encyclopedia, local leaderboard Between-run progression: upgradeable cards, F to S+
Progression and signature twist
Waves escalate by enemy composition: grunts, then fast weavers, armour, phase-shifters, tanks; finally wardens and brutes. Scripted elite waves pose notable challenges, and difficulty also scales with your kill count. You level up repeatedly, growing from one tower to a dense defence by wave 9. Wave 10 is the Chaos Wave: every enemy type at once, sustained. Signature twist: the huge variety of playstyles based on cards and launchers available. One new card unlock might change your entire playstyle next round!
Future-state vision
The real game will be a polished (with BGM), balanced version of this, with more gloss and juice for maximum excitement.
