Our mission is to empower survivors to speak about their experiences while also raising awareness of the impact of sexual violence and fostering a community of support.

Inspiration ✨

As women, we are aware of the prevalence of sexual assault and harassment and want to provide an outlet for survivors to share and receive support.

What it does 💻

A platform where sexual assault and sexual harassment survivors can post their stories, receive support, and connect with other survivors. Resources on mental health support and potential next steps are also provided.

How we built it ⚙️

We built the frontend using HTML/CSS and python for the backend.

Challenges we ran into 💭

We found it challenging to implement the viewing and sharing of the survivor's stories through a discussion post. It was challenging to fully capture our original vision for the home page.

Accomplishments that we're proud of 🏆

We are proud of our success in collaboration and perseverance in overcoming the challenges we faced when working on the functionality for the user posts.

What we learned 📖

We learned how to create the basic template for a functioning website. We expanded on our already existing knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Python.

  • where accounts of sexual assault can be saved privately with timestamps
  • survivors can privately message each other

Having multiple message boards + chat features

Connecting with others that you can follow (private message threads)

Security measures 🔒

  • No identifying characteristics
  • No harassment
  • Ban people who break the rules
