Inspiration

I've used AI tools in the past to assist with writing code, but never tried bolt and solely vibe coded anything. I was inspired by this challenge to build something off vibes alone, and since I was doing this for fun I chose to go after the Reddit Silly Sh!t challenge!

What it does

My Reddit game Breaddit Tower lets you contribute to building the tallest sandwich in the universe, but watch out you don't want to be the one who adds that top piece of bread because then the whole game is over.

How I built it

I started with the Reddit provided template and after some simple configuration was able to get the idea working solely off vibes, and by that I mean simply talking to Bolt and providing instructions.

Challenges I ran into

Bolt can be a bit tricky and would often code up breaking changes or remove awesome features it already built. After getting the app working nicely I asked it to fix one small issue and the entire thing broke 😔, I spent maybe 3 hours trying to get it to work, even writing some code myself, but ultimately never could. Luckily I had downloaded a version perviously that was still working and was able to add my last modifications manually before submitting.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I'm proud of building something silly that works and might bring a smile to someones day! Also I'm glad I didn't give up, I almost did several times.

What we learned

I learned how to build games into Reddit and this is something I'm definitely going to continue exploring

What's next for BreadditTower

Next is the sandwich reaches heights no one could have ever imagined, who knows maybe BreadditTower will have a documentary made about it one day... Could you imagine? I can!
