How we built it

We built this over a weekend using:

Bolt: as our UI + app foundation (buttons, flows, error-handling)
Firebase: auth, user data, Firestore as database
Gemini API: brand generation, scoring, prompt-based validation
Google Fonts + custom logo rendering via prompt logic
Netlify: deploy the site
Entri: to help us about domain auto-configuration

Challenges we ran into

Bolt’s AI often fixed code correctly, but sometimes too automatically, we learned how to prompt it more effectively for nuanced changes
Integrating AI-generated responses (especially multiple logos, colors) into the frontend while maintaining UX took careful iteration
Tuning prompts to ensure naming logic feels Indonesian-friendly and relevant

We also had to design fallback UX in case domain checks failed or responses were too vague.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

In just some weeks, we shipped a full AI product we had dreamed of building for years. What started as just an idea, something we always pushed aside because branding felt too big, too slow, and too expensive, is now real. Petted is already helping real users validate names, logos, and brand identities in minutes. We even use it ourselves now for naming our own side projects and microstartups. And beyond that, we’ve validated that thousands of early-stage founders in Indonesia face the exact same pain, and they’re ready for something faster, smarter, and more affordable.

What we learned

We learned how to fine-tune Bolt’s autofix logic for real-world AI integration, structure prompt chains for brand validation scoring, and merge Firebase authentication with AI workflows inside a production-ready app. Most importantly, we realized that AI is not just a tool for writing code but a thinking partner that helps unlock what really matters. Branding is not about aesthetics. It is about confidence. And Petted gives that confidence instantly.
