Inspiration

After working in a print shop and witnessing firsthand the time-consuming workflow between designers and production, I became fascinated with how AI could streamline and elevate the graphics process. I wanted to build a system that doesn’t just generate visuals — but creates production-ready, brand-compliant graphics that the world can actually use in real print environments.

What it does

Pato.OS is an AI-powered brand compliance and production system for graphics.

It helps users:

Transform a side hustle into a fully branded product Extract brand data from existing brand assets Generate graphics that strictly follow brand guidelines Or generate graphics freely Automatically prep files for professional print production Download print-ready files or connect to nearby printers via API Pay online and simply collect when ready

The platform reduces the time, friction, and technical burden between design and print production — eliminating repetitive tasks while maintaining brand integrity.

How we built it

Brand Extractor Engine Built first to analyze and extract structured brand data (colors, typography, layout rules, tone). Graphic Compliance Generator Designed to produce graphics that adhere strictly to extracted brand guidelines rather than generating uncontrolled AI outputs. Create-Your-Brand Module For users without an existing brand, we built a guided system to generate structured brand kits. System Integration All modules were then connected into a unified workflow — extraction → compliance generation → production prep.

Challenges we ran into

Making the graphics generator produce visually compelling results instead of plain text-like outputs Enforcing brand guideline compliance instead of relying on uncontrolled AI creativity Authentication and email system implementation API instability when a primary AI service went down Limitations of free-tier AI generations

Determining how much control should remain in code versus AI to maintain production reliability We iterated heavily (reaching version 80+), refining architecture and generation logic to balance automation with deterministic control.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully building each system independently Creating a structured brand extraction pipeline Designing a compliance-focused generation approach instead of generic AI design Persisting through API changes and infrastructure instability Rapid iteration under hackathon time pressure

What we learned

Production-grade AI systems require both creative AI and deterministic logic Brand compliance cannot rely purely on generative AI Systems of this scale require a team — not a solo developer Architecture planning is as critical as prompt engineering

What's next for Pato.OS

Fully unify all three systems into a seamless production workflow Strengthen the compliance engine with stricter layout rules Expand printer API integrations Introduce enterprise features for marketing departments Position Pato.OS as a production automation tool for agencies worldwide
