Inspiration
As a marketer tired of juggling disjointed tools for influencer campaigns—spreadsheets for contracts, separate dashboards for analytics, endless emails for approvals—I set out to build a unified solution. The chaos of siloed data and manual workflows wasted hours; BrandCollab OS was born from the need to centralize every step of influencer marketing for brands and agencies.
What it does
BrandCollab OS streamlines the entire influencer marketing lifecycle: discover and vet creators, manage end-to-end campaign workflows, track contracts/payments, and measure performance/ROI—all in one intuitive platform. It automates status updates, payment triggers, and deadline alerts to eliminate manual work.
How we built it
We started by mapping core user workflows (campaign creation, creator scoring, payment processing) to define the platform structure. Using React for the frontend, we built modular UI components for each module (Dashboard, Creator Discovery, Analytics). Node.js/Express powered the backend, with PostgreSQL storing creator/campaign data and AWS for secure file storage. Chart.js was integrated to visualize performance metrics like CPE and ROI.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest hurdle was building the creator scoring system—balancing auto-calculated metrics (engagement, brand fit) with manual internal notes without skewing scores. We also struggled with ensuring payment workflows were airtight (blocking payments until all deliverables approved) while keeping the UX intuitive, not rigid.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created a seamless workflow where campaign statuses update automatically, payment triggers are error-proof, and analytics are actionable for stakeholders. The Creator Database became a standout—centralizing historical partnership data to help brands make data-driven collaboration decisions.
What we learned
We learned the importance of prioritizing user-centric design over feature bloat; every tool needed to solve a specific pain point. We also gained insight into financial compliance for marketing payments, and how to balance automation with human oversight in campaign management.
What's next for this project
Next, we plan to integrate real-time social media data sync to auto-update creator performance metrics. We’ll also add granular role-based permissions for agency/brand teams, and explore e-signature integration for contracts to further streamline the approval process.
