CareerMate is not just a project, it’s personal. As someone navigating the transition from college to career myself, I’ve felt completely lost more times than I can count. One day it’s resume panic, the next it’s figuring out what to learn, and then suddenly everyone’s talking about “system design” or “case interviews” and I’m left wondering, am I the only one who doesn’t get it yet?
I often wished for one place that could just guide me, without judgment. Something that would say: “Here’s what to focus on.” “Here’s how to prepare.” “Here’s how to breathe and believe in yourself.”
CareerMate was born out of that need, a companion for people like me, who are ambitious but overwhelmed, driven but directionless, and just trying to make the leap into their dream job with a little more clarity, confidence, and calm.
It’s built with empathy, powered by AI, and designed to say: "You’ve got this. Let’s do it together."

What I Learned Building fully inside Bolt.new taught me how to work within low-code/no-code constraints while still crafting a powerful UX. I explored integrating voice AI and PDF generation creatively, even when native support was limited. UI/UX thinking was key, I learned how to simplify and deliver real utility with minimal clutter.
How We Built It Started with the full structure and flow in Bolt.new Used Bolt’s component builder to create custom forms, sections, and dynamic areas Integrated AI-generated responses and mock resume scoring Added PDF for client-side PDF generation Plugged in ElevenLabs for real-time voice generation Used localStorage for persistent to-do list functionality Polished the UI with gradients, icons, and micro-animations
Challenges We Faced Working within Bolt’s constraints (no external packages) required creativity in building pseudo-AI functionality and handling dynamic content. Embedding advanced features like voice and PDF export in a no-code environment took a lot of workaround experiments. Managing user state (to-do tracking, custom inputs) in a lightweight way without backend support was tricky, but fun to solve!
