Inspiration
Given the current pandemic we are in, it is clear that the state of our mental health is on a decline. With the ability to easily access social media, it is important to help resolve mental health issues with healthier options. We wanted to create an application that would help individuals recognize and ease the many struggles and feelings that they face with the challenging environment.
What it does
Our web app takes in your mood and gives resources on what to do if you are feeling a certain way. It also has a hotline section for people who feel they may want to connect with people one-on-one.
How we built it
Using HTML for the front end, we created a UI with the help of CSS for the styling. Some javascript was utilized as well for the backend.
Challenges we ran into
We faced some issues with Git and javascript since we are new to hackathons and don’t know javascript.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We learned how to add buttons and hyperlink phone numbers and sms messages to our website.
What we learned
Being beginning programmers, we learned a lot about the syntax and structure of both HTML and CSS. We also had the opportunity to learn more about using Github for collaboration.
What's next for BrainStorm
We want to add a login system to our mood tracker so it can store individualized data for all of the users.
