Inspiration

Brainrot: Final Boss was inspired by the addictive simplicity of clicker games like Cookie Clicker and the thrill of gacha mechanics in mobile games. We wanted to create an engaging experience that combines these elements while adding humor and dopamine-inducing features. The goal was to reward players with satisfying visuals, quirky upgrades, and the excitement of unlocking surprises.

What it does

Brainrot: Final Boss is a game where players earn dopamine by clicking a button and spend it on exciting features like gacha pulls, auto-clickers, and ASMR upgrades. The gacha system provides randomized rewards categorized as common, rare, and legendary, enhanced by embedded videos for a dynamic experience. Players can progress through various upgrades while unlocking unique and entertaining surprises along the way.

How we built it

We built Brainrot: Final Boss using HTML, CSS.. HTML was used to structure the game and enable interactivity, while CSS brought the game to life with a custom aesthetic and animations. We implemented a weighted probability system to power the gacha mechanics and added video embeds to enhance player engagement. Audio and visual elements were integrated for a fully immersive experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the major challenges was creating a balanced gacha system that was both fair and exciting for players. Ensuring the design was visually cohesive while being functional and responsive across different devices also posed a challenge. Additionally, integrating advanced features like auto-clickers and seamless video embeds required careful debugging and optimization.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of successfully creating a game that is both fun and addictive. The integration of the gacha system with videos, audio effects, and quirky upgrades brought a unique twist to the gameplay. Our ability to merge engaging mechanics with a visually polished interface is something we’re particularly proud of.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned how to design and implement game mechanics that balance engagement and functionality. We deepened our knowledge of HTML, CSS, and gained experience with probability-based systems and responsive design. Additionally, we learned the importance of combining humor, aesthetics, and immersive elements to keep players engaged.

What's next for Brainrot:final boss

The next steps for Brainrot: Final Boss include adding achievements, leaderboards, and multiplayer features to increase player engagement. We also plan to introduce new gacha categories, reward animations, and interactive upgrades to further enhance the gameplay. Additionally, optimizing the game for mobile devices and expanding its humor-driven narrative are top priorities.
