Inspiration

Our inspiration came from a personal experience. After an injury led us to a physiotherapy clinic, we witnessed a woman unable to file her insurance claim due to a missing cash memo. The clinic's reliance on paper records caused this issue, and we realized how vulnerable these setups are to data loss. That moment sparked the idea — why not build a digital solution to help small clinics and ventures manage their data safely and efficiently?

What it does

Brain Labs offers a modern SaaS platform, The Clinic App, initially built for clinics and physiotherapy centers but now expanded to support small ventures and marketing startups as well. It eliminates manual paperwork by offering a cloud-based dashboard to manage:

Patient registration

Visit history tracking

Billing & invoices

Real-time analytics

Secure digital records

This central system allows small businesses to focus more on their service and less on administrative chaos.

How we built it

We started by surveying clinics and small ventures to understand their biggest workflow bottlenecks. Based on feedback, we prioritized a clean UI and core features like record-keeping, billing, and analytics.

Our tech stack includes:

Frontend: React.js, Tailwind CSS

Backend: Node.js, Express.js

Database: PostgreSQL

Authentication: JWT-based secure login system

DevOps & Cloud: Render, Railway.app (deployment), GitHub Actions

Monitoring & Logs: Logtail, PostHog (analytics)

API & Integrations: RESTful APIs, PDF generation, cloud storage for documents

We focused on fast iteration cycles, gathering feedback from early users and continuously improving.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was convincing rural ventures to adopt our SaaS solution. Many were hesitant due to their dependence on physical documentation and mistrust of digital tools. It took multiple demos and continuous support to build that trust and show long-term value.

What's next for BrainLabz

Our future roadmap includes:

Next 0–6 months: Pilot 10–20 clinics, iterate rapidly based on real-time feedback

6–12 months: Add appointment scheduling, role-based dashboards, and AI-based analytics

12–24 months: Expand to other healthcare sectors like homeopathy, dental clinics, and beyond.

Long-term goal: Provide general SaaS tools for small-scale businesses and freelancers (e.g. billing, analytics, CRM)
