Inspiration

Many students, aspiring founders, creators, and innovators have promising ideas but often struggle to determine whether those ideas are practical, achievable, or worth pursuing. Questions about feasibility, risks, resource constraints, and execution frequently create uncertainty and delay progress.

We were inspired by the concept of building a "Second Brain for Real Life"—an AI system that helps users think more clearly, evaluate opportunities objectively, and transform vague ideas into actionable plans. Instead of simply generating content, we wanted to create a platform that supports structured decision-making and reduces the uncertainty that often prevents people from taking action.

What it does

BrainForge AI is an AI-powered startup idea planner and viability sandbox that helps users evaluate and refine their ideas before investing significant time and resources.

The platform allows users to:

  • Clarify vague ideas into structured project definitions
  • Analyze feasibility based on skills, time, and budget
  • Generate a BrainForge Readiness Score
  • Identify hidden assumptions and validation opportunities
  • Assess technical, market, and resource-related risks
  • Simulate optimistic, realistic, and pessimistic scenarios
  • Experiment with an interactive What-If Sandbox
  • Generate structured 30-60-90 day execution roadmaps
  • Receive personalized guidance through BrainForge Coach
  • Export comprehensive PDF reports

We designed structured AI prompting workflows to generate feasibility analysis, readiness scoring, risk assessments, roadmap recommendations, and coaching responses while maintaining transparency and user control.

Challenges we ran into

One of our biggest challenges was ensuring that BrainForge AI provided meaningful reasoning rather than acting as a simple text-generation tool.

Some key challenges included:

  • Designing a realistic readiness scoring model
  • Creating useful risk and assumption analysis frameworks
  • Building an interactive scenario simulation system
  • Maintaining a responsive user experience while generating AI insights
  • Handling Gemini API quota limitations
  • Implementing reliable offline fallback behavior
  • Ensuring responsible AI practices through transparency and confidence indicators

Another challenge was simplifying complex project analysis so users could understand recommendations without feeling overwhelmed.
