Inspiration
We observed that many students and individuals struggle with remembering information, managing tasks, and keeping track of their daily goals. With the growing distraction from digital devices, staying focused and mentally organized has become more challenging. This inspired us to create BrainBuddy — a simple, AI-assisted productivity companion that helps users stay sharp, organized, and motivated.
What it does
BrainBuddy functions as a smart memory and productivity assistant. It allows users to:
Save notes and important points quickly
Generate summaries and simplified explanations
Get reminders and time-based tasks
Reinforce memory using recall prompts and quizzes
Get motivational suggestions to stay on track
The idea is to support learning and boost productivity through small but effective interactions.
How we built it
Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript for a clean and responsive interface
Backend: (Add if applicable — Node.js / Python Flask / Firebase / etc.)
AI/Logic: We used natural language processing to summarize & simplify text inputs. (If using Gemini API / Nano / OpenAI, mention here.)
We focused on a smooth user experience so tasks feel effortless.
Challenges we ran into
Designing a UI that feels simple but not boring
Making summaries accurate and readable
Handling local storage / backend data sync efficiently
Making sure the assistant does not overwhelm the user with notifications or too many features
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a working prototype that is easy to use
Implemented text summarization and recall prompts
Designed a clean and minimal interface
Created something that genuinely helps users be more productive
