Inspiration
Phrases like: "Baby Gronk Skibbidied off to Ohio", have been affectionately called "Brain Rot" a term that the Oxford dictionary defines as media that is of poor quality and is a threat to the health of an individual's brain. We define Brain Rot in a more general fashion, as pretty much any newer, over-use slang term.
What it does
Our project takes brain rot files and turns them into something that is legible and professional.
How we built it
We built it using Python, Gemini 2.0, HTML, CSS, JavaScript. We also used some generative AI: ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Copilot and Gemini 2.0.
Challenges we ran into
Most Gen AI API's only can be accessed through Python, especially Gemini, and we were unable to figure out how to connect the JavaScript, frontend code with the Python code that was generating the text.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The UI, and the backend separately are really good, and we definitely faced other challenges when developing both ends. All of us had some to no exposure to the languages and technologies that we used and still managed to almost pull together a working project.
What we learned
We learned about technologies such as Figma, Gemini API, and GitHub. We also learned what Node.js and Flask are for.
What's next for Brain Rottinator
If we had more time, we would have probably redone the code base so that it was easier to incorporate with Python.
