Brain Rot Blocker

Inspiration

We all struggle with procrastination, especially when YouTube is readably available. That is why we decided to create this app, to help us and others struggling with procrastination.

What it does

Brain rot blocker allows you a limited amount of time on YouTube, and once that time expires, you have to do homework problems in order to gain tokens, which can be traded in for time on YouTube.

How we built it

We built this using react, nextJS, html & css for our frontend. We used Gemini API for our AI features, and python & SQL for our backend.

Challenges we ran into

A challenge we ran into was making our chrome extension work along side the website.

We are proud of our idea and the implementation of our idea, especially with the AI features and our website UI

What we learned

We learned a lot about using APIs and integrating SQL and python with our frontend. We also learned how to create chrome extensions

What's next for Brain Rot Blocker

We plan to expand this across other websites, such as TikTok, instagram, Netflix, Hulu, and other streaming platforms.
