Inspiration
One of the members of our team, Gordon, had competed in math competitions in middle and high school. Therefore, we were inspired to create an AI-Powered math tutor to help students preparing for my math competitions.
What it does
This tool is a math tutor that helps students as they are working on math problems. A student can request for hints or ask questions about the question in the chat box. The site uses AI to answer and has the knowledge relevant to the problem.
How we built it
We built our tool using Next.js and used Shadcn for stylistic elements and Neon for our database.
Challenges we ran into
Given the time constraints of this hackathon, we were constrained in what features we could implement. Therefore, we prioritized what we felt was most essential for our tool.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the tool we were able to create, particularly the AI features that allow the tool to have context of what the user is doing.
What we learned
We worked with tools that we were unfamiliar with. Two members of our team had never used Shadcn before. One member had never used Next.js before.
What's next for Brain Psycho
We have many ideas for other features to implement in Brain Psycho, such as tailoring it more for each user, and hope to be able to carry these plans out in the future.
