A Stroke is a serious life threatening condition that effect 790,000 people in the United States every year[1]. Only 1 in 4 of these individual had a stroke before. During a stroke the blood supply to the brain is cut off. There are several risk factors that cause an individual to be prone to a stroke, e.g. age, smoking, high blood plessure etc...

Symptoms may vary from person to person [2], at times symptoms may be minor that a person ignores them. Raising awerness about this issue was one of the reason we build a system for Brain Stroke Detection. The aim is to support hearth patient and non, as well as professional and health care institution. In addition we wanted to develop a more efficient way to deploy such applicaton via orchestration with Hotg-ai's Rune. Our project predicts the likelihood of a patient or a person of having a stroke on the basis of 10 categories. Once the data are entered and submitted the ML model will return the probability for the event to occour. For this project we have used Numpy, Pandas, TensorFlow, HOTG's Rune, .yml and React.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to build .rune for our machine learning model using HOTG.ai' Rune as well as convert succesfully the .pb file to tflite by using data types suitable for Rune operations. After writing the configuration describing the ml pipeline we succesfully deployed the application locally.

What we learned

We learnt a lot about HOT-G, Rune orchestration, TensorFlow and GitPod environment. We have researched about conversion from pb and tflite, how rune operations work with respect to the different datatypes. Additionaly to this, we have learnt about machine learning pipelines and how .yml can facilitate their configuration.

What's next for Brain Health Detection

1) Incorporate a chat that allows hearth patient to speak securely with their cardiologist or nurse. 2) Using the HOT-G API to incorporate the system for Mobile applications
